“Sneakers planting trees”
RUBIROSA is even more than just a brand. The company has long been concerned about climate change and its effects and is aware that CO2 emissions are released as a result of the production and transport routes for every pair of sneakers. Thanks to the fact that the production and all the materials used come from Switzerland and neighbouring Europe, and that care is taken to ensure high-quality production, the sneakers have been assessed as climate-friendly by the independent organisation carbon-connect AG.
But that is not enough for the Swiss label. On the one hand, they want to keep the environmental impact as low as possible and promote sustainable management of the processes. On the other hand, the company has started to cooperate with the non-profit organisation Treellionaire and is now planting a tree for every pair of sneakers sold. Trees are efficient CO2 reservoirs. On average, a tree filters 10 kg of CO2 from the atmosphere every year. With these CO2 compensation measures, RUBIROSA can not only neutralise its CO2 footprint but also have a positive impact, thus standing for responsible use of resources. So every couple of RUBIROSA sneakers is climate-positive!
In addition to these measures, RUBIROSA, together with carbon-connect AG, has calculated their CO2 footprint and is investing in a climate protection project in the Amazon region in Brazil to combat climate change. This means that RUBIROSA not only provides sneakers with that plant trees but has also made the company completely climate-neutral.
